Yacon Root Powder

Pre-Hispanic cultures domesticated the Yacon (Smallanthus Sonchifolius) in the Andean region, a plant that potentially has interesting attributes for human health.

The Smallanthus Sonchifolius is a 100% Andean plant, its original habitat is the highlands of the Andes, between 1800 and 2800 meters above sea level, in temperate mountainous climates. The Yacon is one of the 21 species that belong to the genus Smallanthus. It was domesticated, probably in the humid regions of Peru and Bolivia, from about 1200 BC.

Yacon leaves are an excellent hypoglycemic and antioxidant. This leaf lowers the concentration of glucose in the blood. Today numerous scientific studies prove its effectiveness, which achieves its effect without producing any alteration in the body.
